Lorie L. Chism is the Founder and Managing Partner of Amelia Law Group and practices in the areas of business and corporate law, tax law, and estate planning, serving a broad base of businesses and individuals throughout the Jacksonville metropolitan area and Nassau County. Ms. Chism brings experience as a certified public accountant to bear on complex matters such as mergers and acquisitions, succession planning for business owners and strategic business planning.  

In service of her high net worth clients, Ms. Chism has significant experience in private company representations, partnership and LLC structuring, and all aspects of private business management. Whether in service of a business or an individual, Ms. Chism navigates clients through all phases of a transaction, identifying potential risks and pitfalls and developing innovative strategies to attain the best, legally permissible result given the client’s individual goals and circumstances.

Ms. Chism has been recognized by her peers as a “Super Lawyer” for the years 2014 through 2023, one of Florida Trends "Legal Elite" in 2011, 2021, 2022, and 2023, and as a “Rising Star” in 2012, the latter ranking being earned by less than 2.5% of attorneys in the state.

Ms. Chism is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, the Taxation Law and Business sections of the State Bar of Georgia and the American Society of Attorney-CPAs. 

Ms. Chism holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of North Florida and a JD with honors from Florida Coastal School of Law. She earned her CPA designation in 1990 and practiced as a CPA before beginning her her career as an attorney in 2002. Ms. Chism founded Amelia Law Group in 2014 to better serve the needs of her North Florida clients.  Ms. Chism is admitted to practice law in Florida and Georgia.
